The two dose regime- COVID-19 Vaccine
“The Oxford COVID-19 vaccine candidate had a better immune response when two full dose regime is used rather than a full dose followed by a half dose booster. There is still more work to be done to confirm the result”, the university said.
Phase 1 & 2 trials
The details from the phase 1 and 2 clinical trials released on Thursday made no reference to the higher dose or the full dose regime. Oxford said that it had been unplanned but approved by regulators. University said that it will explode the two dose regimes in the early stage trials of the dose/ full dose regime and a full dose/half dose regime, investigated as a possible dose pairing strategy.
The booster doses of the vaccine are both shown to induce stronger antibody responses than a single dose, the standard dose/standard dose inducing the best response.
Effects of the vaccine
The vaccine simulate broad antibody and T cell functions.
